Has your club registered for Sporting Schools?
Gymnastics Australia is continuing its partnership with Sport Australia to offer LaunchPad Gymnastics programs to children before, during or after school.
With over 200 coaching providers having already delivered 1,000 gymnastics programs to in excess of 90,000 children in its first year, the Sporting Schools Program is a huge opportunity for your club to access
new members and participants as well as provide paid coaching opportunities during the day for your coach workforce.
Do you have coaches looking for work before school or during school time? This program will provide them with a chance to earn money at a time that suits them without taking them
away from their coaching commitments at your club.
If your club is interested in connecting with school in your local community and working with Gymnastics Australia to deliver gymnastics, you can register online via
the Sporting Schools website.
If you would like further information on how your club and coaches can get involved (including a ‘step by step’ guide to registering) visit the LaunchPad website or us at email@example.com .

participating in school gymnastics programs to becoming fully-fledged gymnastics club members.
The initiative includes opportunities for children to download a free 'Come n Try' voucher to be redeemed at their local participating Gymnastics club, and participants also have the chance to go
in the draw to win a new iPad EVERY term!
Meet Holly Brackenridge from NSW who was the Term 4 winner of the Win an iPad competition.
Holly was among over 26,000 children that had fun participating in LaunchPad gymnastics sessions throughout Australia

LaunchPad at its best in the West! - Nov. 2014
Gymnastics WA shares an update about their use of the LaunchPad program throughout Western Australia.
As part of Gymnastics Australia’s aim to promote best practice and encourage participation, Gymnastics WA shares an update on their involvement with LaunchPad.
LaunchPad is moving ahead in leaps and bounds in Western Australia with clubs embracing the philosophy and branding, then successfully embedding this into their club culture.
One local club, West Coast Gymnasts, recently acquired a second venue and have developed a dedicated LaunchPad hub where an outstanding example of best practice has been implemented.
All classes in their new venue are conducted with the philosophies of LaunchPad at the forefront, and the inclusion of LaunchPad branding on staff uniforms and throughout the venue is a bright and vibrant addition.
Through the Australian Sports Commission’s Active After-school Communities program, West Coast Gymnasts have provided the opportunity for 100 school children from four
local primary schools to experience a quality school-based program, as well as to have an opportunity for ongoing participation in existing club programs.
The school-to-club program commenced in July and wraps up in early November. It is hoped that findings from this project can be addressed in future school based programs within the proposed Australian Sports Commission
Sporting Schools structure which will roll out in 2015.
School programs administered by Gymnastics Western Australia have seen growth of more than 270 per cent in 2014 with programs encompassing the LaunchPad philosophy ensuring
that the first contact students have with the sport of gymnastics is both positive and of good quality.
These programs have also provided clubs with an opportunity to engage with their local schools to provide ongoing gymnastics programs and foster a strong community link.
At the recent Go for 2&5 GWA Interschool Challenge Primary School girl’s event Gymnastics WA added a LaunchPad circuit activity - a ‘Spring & Swing Sesh’ - to give the 68 students a chance to experience
other gymnastics activities and to promote the program to staff members of the schools in attendance…we would all rather move than rest, right?
Feedback from schools on the event was positive and generated interest in additional schools-based programs for 2015.
In November Gymnastics WA will be engaging with teachers through the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) State Conference. It is hoped that the two workshops being presented will provide
the catalyst for more Western Australian teachers to embrace gymnastics in their schools through the LaunchPad initiative.
